Summertime on Broadway!
It’s a new season, and I don’t just mean the summer! The Tony Awards have come and gone, and that means we are in a new season of Broadway shows! Let’s go over a few shows that have opened up recently that you may be interested in!
Grey House
It’s not everyday we see a horror-thriller on Broadway! Grey House is a new original play written by Levi Holloway and directed by Joe Mantello (Wicked) and has an unbelievable cast starring Laurie Metcalf (Roseanne), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black, She-Hulk), Paul Sparks (House of Cards), Sophia Ann Caruso (Beetlejuice the Musical) and Millicent Simmonds (A Quiet Place).
Show Synopsis:
When a couple crashes their car in the mountains, they seek shelter in an isolated cabin. Its inhabitants, though somewhat unusual, are eager to make their guests feel right at home. But as the blizzard outside rages on and one night turns into several, the couple becomes less and less sure of what's true—about their hosts, themselves, and why that sound in the walls keeps getting louder.
Back to the Future
Great Scott! Are horror-thrillers not your jam? That’s okay because Back to the Future: The Musical is fun for the whole family! This new musical comedy has entertained audiences in London for several years, but has now hit 88 mph and landed on Broadway! Adapted from the original 1985 film by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, this show brings everything you love about the movie to the stage with music new and old!
Legendary composers Alan Silvestri (Avengers, Doctor Strange) & Glen Ballard (Michael Jackon’s Man in the Mirror, Ghost the Musical) bring in some familiar tunes from the movie (including The Power of Love and Earth Angel) as well as new tunes written specifically for the show.
The show also features a fantastic cast starring Roger Bart (The Producers, Young Frankenstein) as Doc Brown and Casey Likes (Almost Famous the Musical) as Marty McFly.
Show Synopsis:
When Marty McFly finds himself transported back to 1955 in a time machine built by the eccentric scientist Doc Brown, he accidentally changes the course of history. Now he’s in a race against time to fix the present, escape the past and send himself... back to the future.

Once Upon a One More Time
Are you fan of Brittney Spears & fairy tales? If so, Once Upon a One More Time will be right up your alley. This new musical weaves the biggest hits of pop star Brittney Spears with familiar heroines from Grimms’ Fairy Tales. The show features a story by Jon Hartmere (The Upside) and direction & choreography by husband and wife team, Keone & Mari Madrid (Us Again, Beyond Babel). The cast stars Briga Heelan (Curb your Enthusiasm) as Cinderella, Justin Guarini (American Idiot, Wicked) as Prince Charming, Jennifer Simard (Company, Mean Girls) as the Stepmother & Adam Godley (Succession, Breaking Bad) as the Narrator.
Show Synopsis:
When our storybook heroines gather for book club, they always discuss the same book, Grimms’ Fairy Tales — because as far as they know, it’s the only book that’s ever been written. That’s until a rogue fairy godmother drops The Feminine Mystique into their corseted laps. From now on, “happily ever after” will never be the same. Once Upon a One More Time weaves the chart-topping hits of the undisputed Princess of Pop, Britney Spears, into a brand-new kind of fairy tale.
